COSRX The Retinol 0.5 Oil is an oil-based, light retinol serum with a high 0.5% retinol concentration.

This oil is recommended for experienced retinol users due to its high concentration. The oil fades the signs of aging, firms, renews, smoothes and brightens the skin. It also fades acne scars and reduces the sebum production of the skin.

What is retinol and what does it do?
Retinol is the most effective ingredient used in cosmetics for the treatment of lines and signs of aging. In addition, it is one of the most researched skin care ingredients. It belongs to the class of retinoids, i.e. vitamin A derivatives.

Retinoids are used in both beauty care and medicine to respond to many different skin care ailments.

• Retinol enhances the production of skin cells. When new skin cells are produced faster, the skin also regenerates faster. This fades skin lines, acne scars, evens out unevenness and can even reverse sun damage such as pigmentation marks. The skin becomes smoother, more glowing and healthier.
• Retinol has a sebum-reducing effect. Together with this and the ability to regenerate quickly, the skin is not blocked so easily, which means that impurities are reduced.
• Retinol revives collagen production and inactivates collagen-degrading enzymes. The skin is stronger, thicker and more elastic.
• Retinol acts as an antioxidant, i.e. it protects the skin by fighting free radicals that damage the skin. When used correctly, retinol improves the skin’s protective layer and can reduce skin dryness. This is because the use of retinol increases, for example, the amount of natural hyaluronic acid in the skin!

HOW TO USE

Test the serum on an inconspicuous area of ​​the skin before using it for the first time on the face. The product is used a few drops in place of the serum approximately every other evening, after the face wash and before the moisturizer. Initially, it is recommended to use less than three times a week to minimize skin irritation.

Note! Retinol oxidizes and loses its effectiveness easily, which is why it is recommended to store it in the refrigerator.
